My way or the highway!

I'm siiinging in the rain... actually writing, and in the office... but it's raining outside... however, I finished the first novel of the The Death Gate Cycle series and it was great I tell you! Now I'm finally free to post some serious ART.

Quite accidentally this started to look like, ehh, helicopter view of some modern higway-bridge-thing. I was almost finished so I added the train tracks to the only available space I had left to strengthen the image that I see in my head. I curse the day I drew those car-like lines and ruined everything :)

I'm running  out of notes! Our office is moving within a month or so and they emptied our office supply room as 99% of the people from this building has already left. There is about 15 persons working in the sixth floor of a six storey building. Storey, story, store... I think it's storey right?

I love the smell of fresh (automatic) coffee in the morning! At 0600 the alarm clock kindly reminded me to wake up, hop on to my bike and go to work. It was not until my first sip of coffee that I could start to talk to people and smile. Before that it was more like murderous glances with failed fake smile and deep deep growling sound "mornin'".

It's about 300+ days until my next summer vacation, sad really...

I just wanted to draw a hand and somehow at some point Plato and the allegory of the cave popped to my mind. Is there another reality behind the palm of his hand? Is our reality just a mere shadow of the real deal?
Well, I'm his god anyways so he is screwed.

I have no idea what it is, I like it though. I've been so busy and thus, tired, that it starts to affect my mermory, I don't remember any agreed meetings or even the simplest shopping list that I've received via phone just minutes ago... Two more weeks and my summer vacation finally starts.

For those who wonder the changing image quality, my Lumia 920 had to be repaired once again so I've been taking some of the photos with my old HTC Desire Z. I got the Lumia back last week and so far so good... nothing's broken... yet. And I must speed up the posting process if I've taken this week ago already, sorry sorry!

I'm happy how this turned out. It's pretty much just how I planned it to be from the first draw. This took a while to complete as I'm doing my job at few different locations nowadays and I don't carry the post-it notes with me :)

I also found my old post-it stash and there is at least one picture never seen here ... so stay tuned!


Oh yeah, guys, girls, please tell me which is your favourite doodle so far?

Sorry for the late post... I blame summer :)
It's dead! I just filled the remaining empty spaces with anything that came out from the pen.
Let's hope that the suicidal frog doesn't make the jump... He'll get over this sudden (sad) change of events eventually. He-hey! Two posts a day, what a treat... thanks to the ¤#*$*@¤ crappy mobile app... oh, I managed to remove it, HA! I don't usually have many images ready at once, but this one I started as a test as I noticed that the pen is not working properly... I still managed to get it work at times, but in the end the ink just faded away... anyhow, this was done in 10 to 20 minutes while working so I took a photo of it while I posted the Noir. Thanks to some crappy Blogger app I managed post this accidentally. It took me a while to find the button to revert the post so some lucky ones have seen this one few weeks ago :)

I was actually thinking if I'd buy a bunch of real artist pens and try out this "flow of mind/random lines" theme to a bit bigger paper. I still don't want to plan anything ahead, but I find myself enjoying more and more of these pictures that turn out representing atleast something recognizable :)

Noir

Self portrait :p

I use jackets with high collar quite often and sometimes I wear my Fedora with them... and I look like this :) Ooh, now you know that I have a beard, GZ! And yeah yeah, I know, I 've seen  these picture and I know that I don't look exactly as cool as Indiana Jones! Just let me have my fantasies...

I got the inspiration from some Noir movie that I watched recently, I forgot the title already. Some times later I did this while watching a Zombie movie... forgot the title of that one too... Zombies in Africa anyways, boring as hell.

Been busy and I haven't had the time to post this earlier... it's been ready for several weeks :p I go my bike back from the repair shop and I've been hammering the suspension in the nearby forest ever since. The summer is so short up here in the North that I just can't sit inside and play around with computers all day long. Soon it's cold and dark again, hrr!

A bit blurry photo, well, I'm too lazy to take another one right now so it'll have to do. I watched a Red Planet while doing this and I guess that the chase scene was inspired by the movie as their Mars robot... thing... went rogue and started to chase and kill the crew one by one. And once again I regret that the final idea came after I already doodled it full random things :)

Oh yeah, the half marathon is over, I'm alive and my legs are intact.. success! I have two new notes coming up, but I'm not sure if I want to continue them or not so bear with me. The other one is a traditional office doodle, but the other one stole my attention in such levels that I'm not sure if it can be called a doodle anymore :p

Missed a spot

Been busy, sort of... and sick. Two days to go ... a half marathon, scary shit! Also the snow's gone for good so I've also been cleaning the yard, assembled the new gas grill etc.

The views have dropped dramatically I see, well... it's not a real interesting art that I'm doing here now is it? And I don't do this for views and publicity anyways, so... let's keep on rocking.

I wanted this to be a galaxy, hence the spiral thing in the middle, but then a "bubble" emerged and everything went wild.

Cthulhu

I made this for my friend, he took a Cthulhu tattoo few weeks ago. We laughed about the different cute and funny ideas that we had for his tattoo. In the end he went for the serious look so I wanted to create something similar that we talked about.

The Cthulhu worshippers chant "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming" so I imagined him relaxing at his manor which lies just in the outskirts of the city of R'lyeh :) And this is actually a portrait of the exact moment... And for some reason I pictured him to be a British nobleman... Anyhow, I have more coming, until next time o/

Universal

here comes the sun

I started this before my vacation and felt like it's ready few days ago. Three weeks and this is all I got :) Well, 1,5 weeks if you exclude the vacation :p

I got the main idea from the icon in my iPhone's USB connector. The rest is just random fillings done during everlasting meeting calls and while solving very irritating technical issues. Even though this doesn't have a real idea I still kinda like the right part of the drawing.

I've been really busy at the work and at home... I hope that the life would get a bit more ... leisured (is that even a proper word?) in the future :p

oh oh, yeah, and the snow is almost completely gone. I've already started to biking to work. Few more weeks and the forests are MTB accessible ^___^

Fish bowl

Finding Nemo

It's a shame that the great ideas always come late. After filling almost the whole picture with random shapes in an ever lasting status meeting I drew a _thing_ that started to look like a fish in a bowl... or in a cylinder. All in all I like how it came out, although I would like to have an magical eraser so that I could fix at least the upper part of the damn thing :p

This fish in a bottle theme is also something that I might try later to my sketchbook now that I have more clear idea how it should look like with that little fisher on top of it and all.

Post-it Art v2.0

Wide

I also have these wider notes lying around and I decided to give it a go :p It all started from the grumpy face in the bottom left corner... and it stayed in that shape for the whole week or so until I started to randomly build it upwards while watching Stargåte SG1 from the Netflix.

I actually had a pretty clear plan for this one for some reason; wide screen TV and some kind of news anchor guy inside it... and this is the result. Plus I actually regret drawing that goofy looking skull. It should be much more serious.. like the one in my second blog post :p

Curves

What is it? Well, I don't know, but I still like it. Part of me wants to experiment these similar things, shapes... the whole 'Post-it Art style' on bigger canvas but if I do will these things then become just mere scetches? I fear that I'll ruin my whole point keeping these doodlings separate thing from anything else that I do :p

Few more doodles to go and we are finally in the present... meaning that I don't have anything old to show you and I'll update the blog when ever I get new doodles ready. Which can mean basically anything from daily to bi-weekly updates.

Back to basics

It's a mess

Doodling in it's purest form :) Lots of lines and shapes... and a funny skull. It may seem like nothing but these are actually the ones which take lots of time. There are times when I wonder if this more than just doodling as sometimes I find myself thinking so much about the picture that I do not have a single idea what the meeting is about or what I was doing before drawing the lines :)

This was supposed to be an alien (can you spot it?) but as always things get out of control and here we are. I proudly present to you... a beast!, dog, thing!

I was planning to draw the whole head but I feared that I might ruin the good start so it ended up like this. Maybe next time... this actually inspires me to try to draw some kind of old Indian statues head... with the tongue and all, you know? Maybe I'll do a Post-it version first and then a real one to my sketch book once I've practiced :)

Cheesy way

It's a... space, kind of. This is what happens when the milky way meets its expiration date, cheese. I don't like the things that look like space ships but there they are, enjoy :)

Wroooom!

I was daydreaming during one hour status meeting. It's me driving around the sunny city :)

I've always drawn quite traditionally. I mean, I have always tried to have somewhat realistic feel to my pictures even if they are more cartoonish or manga like... But the more I do these post-it doodles I find myself enjoying this style where these mysterious shapes form something recognisable :)
